Getting here.
Our locations are easy to access. Auraria Campus is simple to get to by car or public transportation. Our south campus in the Denver Tech Center or the north campus in Northglenn may be even more convenient for you. Your student fees include an unlimited-ride RTD pass for all bus and Light Rail routes, including those that stop on our campus:

  • D, F and H Light Rail Lines at Colfax and Auraria station on south side of campus
  • C and E Light Rail Lines at Auraria West Station
  • Eleven RTD bus routes

Getting out.
Looking for an active social life among studies, work, family, and other obligations? The vibrant city center is home to plays, films, museums, galleries, major league sports, restaurants, coffee houses, clubs, shopping, biking, hiking, kayaking and much more. The campus is walking distance from the many shops and restaurants of Lower Downtown (LoDo).

Metro State is ideally situated to provide the best that Denver has to offer.Cultural options abound. Take in a concert or play at the dazzling Kenneth King Center for the Performing Arts on campus, check out the latest art exhibit at Metro State’s Center for Visual Art in LoDo, see what your fellow students have created in the on-campus Emmanuel Gallery. The music program brings dozens of renowned artists to perform on campus, and students can attend free. Keep abreast of upcoming activities on the News, Events, & the Arts Web page.


Getting active.
Your physical life adds an important dimension to your academic and social life.

At Metro State, you’ll find abundant opportunities to get physically active. Campus Recreation provides a fitness center, climbing wall, swimming pool and basketball courts, and coordinates many programs:

  • Drop-in aerobics, like cardio kickboxing, hip-hop and step
  • Intramural sports, including basketball, racquetball, tennis and volleyball
  • Club sports—like cheerleading, tae kwon do, women’s softball, men’s ice hockey and rugby
  • Outdoor adventure trips including ice and rock climbing, kayaking and mountain biking
  • Low-cost rental equipment
  • Physically Challenged Program

Getting healthy.
You can take advantage of our tools for healthy living through the Auraria Student Health Center.

You’ll have access to:

  • physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and medical assistants
  • free chair massage and reflexology sessions weekly
  • lectures and classes on such topics as Chinese medicine, diet, vitamins and health
  • weekly classes in pilates, yoga, tai chi, salsa dancing and more
